Jamahal Hill looks forward to getting in the ring with Jiri Prochazka, the former light-heavyweight champion. The fighter recently shared his thoughts on his future fight with Prochazka for his first title defense.
Jamahal is the reigning UFC light-heavyweight champion. Hill and Glover Teixeira headlined UFC 283, with the former coming out on top with a unanimous decision win over the Brazilian fighter. With just nine fights under his belt since his debut in 2019, Hill has risen through the ranks and is now at the top of the food chain in his division.
Hill had previously mentioned he is keen on establishing his footing in his division before going after what he really came for. He once mentioned in an interview that he intended to get into the octagon with Jon Jones, who previously dominated the Light Heavyweight division. “Bones” has moved on to conquer the Heavyweight division, and Hill intends to chase after his dream fight.
However, for now, he gets ready for his first-ever title defense in the UFC against the former UFC Light-heavyweight Champion Jiri Prochazka. Prochazka too had claimed the title from Glover Teixeira, but due to an intense shoulder injury during training, he had to get surgery and thus vacate the title. But now he is back and ready to claim back his position as the UFC Light-heavyweight Champion.

Jamahal Hill and Jiri Prochazka are reportedly scheduled for a fight later this year. The two have exchanged a few shots at each other on social media. They also got into an intense stare-down at UFC 285 in Las Vegas.
Hill is confident he can take on the former champion. “I feel like my skill level is vastly past that of his own,” he said. “I was just watching his fights the other day. He’s not that guy. I can’t wait to get him in there”. Although there has not been an official announcement, Hill expects to fight in August. “I’m not trying to wait past August…Whether it’s Jiri or whoever steps forward, I’m ready to get it in.”
Hill told MMA Junkie he is excited to get in the octagon with Jiri Prochazka. ” I truly can’t wait to get him in there so he can see what it’s like. It’s going to be funny. I’m going to beat the dog sh*t out (of) that man”. The fight is reportedly set for August at the TD Garden in Boston, although nothing has been officially announced as of now.
