Dana White recently revealed that Jamahal Hill and Alex Pereira will headline the highly anticipated UFC 300 event. Hill recently did an interview where he talked about the opportunity and how it came about. Here is what happened:

Jamahal Hill recently talked to Aaron Bronsteter from MMA Fighting. There he talked about fighting at UFC 300 and the UFC wanting a potential fight against Alex Pereira. Jamahal Hill said: 

Everybody wants to be on UFC 300, but realistically it didn’t really come on my radar and didn’t really happen until like yesterday. I’m not even gonna lie. Like, yesterday. When he called me, and he let me know the situation … well, basically the situation was they needed a main event. They had some things lined up but they preferred it be me and Alex.

Alex Pereira will defend his UFC light heavyweight title at UFC 300 against Jamahal Hill who was the former titleholder. The fight will take place this April at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Last year, Jamahal Hill announced on his YouTube channel that he would give up the UFC light heavyweight title. This was because of a ruptured Achilles tendon leaving him unable to continue fighting for a while. Hill had won the title in January 2023 by defeating Glover Teixeira at UFC 283.

Now, Hill will fight Alex Pereira who is a close comrade of Glover Texeira. Pereira is also a former UFC middleweight champion. He won the UFC light heavyweight title last year at UFC 295. Pereira defeated Jiří Procházka via TKO in the second round and bagged the title and the Performance of the Night award.
