Jan Blachowicz believes a potential fight against Jiri Prochazka could turn out to be one of the greatest fights in UFC history.

Former light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz is looking to reclaim his title following his win against top light heavyweight contender Aleksandar Rakic at UFC Vegas 54. Blachowicz secured a win by injury stoppage after three rounds of back-forth with Rakic. Jan already has his eyes set on the upcoming title bout between Jiri Prochazka and Glover Teixeira at UFC 275.

As much as Jan would like to exact revenge against the Brazilian champ, Blachowicz’s mouth waters with the idea of him headlining an event against Prochazka in Europe. Despite the result of the fight at UFC 275, Blachowicz believes that he would be next in line for the light heavyweight title. Talking to Ariel Helwani, Jan talks about a potential light heavyweight title bout against rising star Prochazka.

Jiri has seen a rise to the top unlike many in the UFC roster. With only two fights in the promotion, Prochazka will be fighting for the belt next month. “If they will do this fight in Europe, it will be one of the biggest fights in Europe,” said Jan talking to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour.

“Me versus Jiri, it will be amazing,” said Blachowicz on fighting “Denisa” for the title. “We can do it in Poland or Czech Republic. I think if they do this fight, me vs Jiri in Poland…National Stadium, 60,000 people could be there.” Jan also believes selling tickets won’t be a problem in Poland if he headlines the event against someone as entertaining as Prochazka.

Jiri is currently one of the biggest prospects in the light heavyweight division given his style of fighting. The Czech MMA star has been absolutely electrifying inside the octagon in his career. He has a record of 28-3-1 in his professional mixed martial arts career and is also a champion in different promotions. A fight between Jiri and Jan would be something out of an anime given the personalities of the two fighters.
