“I can stop him” Jan Blachowicz makes an indirect callout of Jiri Prochazka whilst previewing UFC 275 title fight
Jan Blachowicz- Jiri Prochazka
Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz made sure that he comes to Singapore to witness how the main event of UFC 275 will change the course of his aspirations for the next opponent in line with his fighting career. Blachowicz, the preceding champion, will be witnessing current champion Glover Teixeira– who dethroned Blachowicz off his championship reign back at UFC 267– defending his title against Jiri Prochazka.
UFC 275 takes place in Singapore and it is UFC’s first-ever numbered PPV event to be hosted by an Asian country. The fight card is headlined by Teixeira and Prochazka while the co-main event comprises Valentina Shevchenko defending her title for the seventh time against Taila Santos. Amongst other features, former UFC women’s strawweight champions Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Zhang Weili will go for a scrap again after delivering a fight for the ages in their first fight back in 2020.
Jan Blachowicz feels Jiri Prochazka cannot survive against Glover Teixeira for 25 minutes straight
Blachowicz gave an interview to MMA Fighting to talk about his advocacy to be the next in line for the title shot over the winner of the Magomed Ankalaev vs Anthony Smith bout, his favourite Polish books and how he sees the UFC 275 main event going down.
“For sure he [Prochazka] can fight against Glover on the ground but I don’t think so he can survive 25 minutes on the ground with Glover,” says Blachowicz. Speaking of Prochazka, Blachowicz says “He’s got crazy style you know. A lot of big pressure. But you know, if he’s gonna be my next opponent, I will find a way on how to stop him, because I see the way how can we do it…”
Finally, Blachowicz has still picked Teixeira to be the winner but only with a slight leaning. How do you perceive Jan against Jiri? Who do you think wins that fight? Who do you think wins the main event this weekend at UFC 275? Do you perceive Blachowicz becoming a world champion all over again?
