“Focus on talking crap,” Jared Cannonier promises not to let Sean Strickland open his mouth inside the octagon

Jared Cannonier and Sean Strickland are all set to fight it out at UFC Vegas 66 inside the UFC APEX Arena. Both the fighters will be going into the fight with a losing momentum. Cannonier in his last outing fought the former UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, and lost the fight at UFC 276. On the other hand, Strickland was stopped by Alex Pereira at the same event.
Ahead of the fight, during the press conference, Jared Cannonier was asked if he thinks Strickland will trash-talk him inside the octagon. While responding to the question, Cannonier mentioned if that happens it will only mean that he’s not doing his job as a fighter perfectly. According to Cannonier, Strickland will get no chance to open his mouth once the fight starts.
“Well if he’s doing that then I’m not doing my job well enough,” said Cannonier. “I’m not putting pressure on him to make him focus more on the fight as supposed to focus on talking crap and taking me out of my element. So, I think he’ll have his hands full, a little full to be talking crap.”
Strickland is well known for his trash-talking and thrashing his opponents beforehand the fight. However, in his last fight, he got knocked out in the first round. It will be interesting to see what gameplan Strickland will bring into this fight. However, his unfiltered personality is still there irrespective of his last loss.
Sean Strickland takes a dig at Dana White and compares fighters with porn stars
A lot of fans like Sean Strickland due to his raw comments on UFC and its members. As the fighter gets ready to fight Jared Cannonier this weekend, he took a jibe at Dana White. Recently fight fans have been thrashing White after his controversial comments on the Paddy Pimblett vs Jared Gordon fight. Similarly, White also didn’t do much after the controversial draw between Jan Blachowicz and Muhammad Ankalaev.
Regarding the situation, Strickland claimed that White doesn’t really care about fighters, and at the end of the day, they are just cattle.
“If I’m the CEO of the UFC, and I’m like, ‘What big scary motherf**ers can we pick to fight each other.’ And afterwards, I’m like, ‘I hope you’re having a good Christmas. I hope life is good.’ No! We’re f**king cattle dude. Us vs. pornstars, what’s the difference?” said Strickland.
The fight between Strickland and Cannonier will most probably decide the next title contender in line. The UFC hasn’t decided if there is going to be a title rematch between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira. So, this showdown is definitely a vital one.
