Jeff Molina was the unfortunate recipient of being the one to face the wrath of homophobia in the MMA community. Every year there is a UFC fighter who faces flak after they choose to support the LGBTQ community as fans of the sport can be notoriously close-minded.

Unlike other organizations, the UFC doesn’t mandate any political wear over their fighters but gives them the opportunity to wear a fight kit with the rainbow flag if they wish to. Molina thought that it would be a nice gesture to support a community that has been facing oppression until very recently. However, what he didn’t expect was the firestorm that some fans created over this act of his.

Molina was showered with hateful comments on both Twitter and Instagram where he posted the photos of the pride kit that he planned to wear during his walkout at UFC Fight Night: Volkov vs Rozenstruik. Many fans even claimed that Molina himself was homosexual which was the reason he chose to wear the kit.

After his close split decision victory over Kazakh national, Zhalgas Mukhambet, Molina while reacting to his victory, he was asked by a reporter if he was surprised after the trolls attacked him for representing the pride colors. Molina, warning the media that they’ll get him riled up responded, “It’s f**king ridiculous” expressing his disbelief in wrapping it around his mind that even in 2022 people are still opposed to one’s personal sexual preferences. Molina then called people out to be misusing religion to justify their hate for people as he thinks religion is the most accepted thing in the world.
