‘I don’t play in the cage’ – Jiri Prochazka’s only objective is to finish Glover Teixeira in upcoming title fight
Jiri Prochazka wants to finish Glover Teixeira
Jiri Prochazka is not coming to play games in his fight against the light heavyweight champion, Glover Texeira. The Czech fighter is looking to end the fight as soon as possible.
Jiri Prochazka gets his shot at the UFC light heavyweight belt after only two fights into the promotion. He will be taking on veteran and recent champion Glover Teixeira in the main event bout at UFC 275. The fight takes place at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on June 11th. Jiri vows to bring the fireworks as he will look to snatch the belt from Glover.
Ahead of his 205-pound title fight, Jiri sits down for an exclusive interview with Combat Sports and talks about his game plan. Though Glover is a threat and the ground and is the favorite to win that duel on the canvas, Jiri believes his pressure in striking will keep the threat at bay at UFC 275.
When asked about a prediction for the upcoming title fight, Jiri said, “It doesn’t matter if it will be the first round, second, third, fourth, or fifth round, doesn’t matter, I am ready to end it in every second, from first round till fifth round.”
Jiri Prochazka says he will go “straight for the win” against Glover Teixeira
“I’m not the guy who likes to play in the cage, who likes to do some setups or some big strategies in the fight, I like to go straight for the win,” said Prochazka in an interview talking to Combat Sports. However, it won’t be easy for the Czech Republican to finish Glover easily given the Brazilian himself is one of the best finishers in the history of the division. Watch the interview below:
Jiri is coming off two wins against, Volkan Oezdemir and former title contender Dominick Reyes. His knockout against Reyes surely put the division under notice and promised a great career for the fighter. He won the 2021 knockout of the year award and is now looking to produce fireworks in the title fight against Teixeira next week.
