“14 month journey of homelessness,” Joe Rogan almost choked up recalling Francis Ngannou being arrested SEVEN times and thrown to Sahara desert
Joe Rogan was deeply moved by Francis Ngannou's escape story from Cameroon, which he shared on his podcast. Rogan anticipates the Tyson Fury vs. Ngannou boxing match, despite tensions with Fury.

Joe Rogan is one of the best podcasters in the world. It was on his podcast that Francis Ngannou told his life story to the world. When he heard about the story, he was awestruck. Rogan, despite being good friends with Dana White, does not have any animosity towards Ngannou. Ngannou was a recent guest on the JRE.
Joe Rogan has talked about Ngannou escaping Cameroon to many of his guests. This is what Rogan said to one of his friends about Ngannou:
Conversation that I had yesterday with Francis Ngannou about escaping Cameroon, making his way to Morocco, and being arrested seven times trying to escape Morocco and go to Spain. They would take them after they arrest them; they would hold them and then they would bring them to the Sahara Desert and drop them off, they did that to him seven times, they literally tried to kill them. They tried to drop them off in the desert, no food, no water, no nothing, no clothes, they did it in the winter; they did it in the summer. In the winter, it's horrific because the temperature drops to an ins*ne level, and they're nowhere to go. These Africans are doing this on a daily basis, making this journey from whatever country they're in in Africa to try to make it to Europe. And he did it over the course of 14 months, and he outlined this 14-month journey of homelessness, living in the forest. Dude, it was f*cking c*azy.Joe Rogan via JRE
Rogan and the combat sports community are eagerly awaiting the boxing bout between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou. Ngannou is a big underdog in the bout. Interestingly, Fury and Rogan are not on good terms. This is due to Rogan’s comments that Jon Jones would defeat Fury in an actual fight. Even though Ngannou has Mike Tyson in his corner, it is not seen as good enough as Fury is a humongous favorite in the fight.
The boxing bout is already gaining traction as many celebrities are already there to witness the event in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Israel Adesanya, the former middleweight champion, has landed to support Ngannou. Adesanya met Roberto Duran there and was awestruck by the legend, knowing him. The celebrities who are there include the likes of Eminem, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Manny Pacquiao to name a few.
Israel Adesanya proud of Francis Ngannou for fighting Tyson Fury inside a boxing ring
Francis Ngannou fighting Tyson Fury has turned the combat sports world upside down. Even though Ngannou is given little chance to win, many have sided with The Predator. One among those is Israel Adesanya. Adesanya recently did a breakdown of the bout with acclaimed boxing coach, Teddy Atlas.

Atlas believed that Fury would win if not careless. However, Adesanya was all in for Ngannou. This is what he said on his FreeStylebender YouTube channel breakdown episode with Teddy Atlas.
For me, as a fighter, as a man, I'm proud of him, regardless of what happens in this fight. But Teddy, I've seen miracles happen. I've made miracles happen in my life, and I know the magic of when it happens. And I know when the decks are stacked against someone, and because Francis is my brother, I ride with him.Israel Adesanya via his YouTube channel.
There was a time when Ngannou and Adesanya, along with Kamaru Usman, reigned as the champions of the UFC. It all changed in 2023. Ngannou has vacated the title and left for PFL, and Adesanya and Usman have lost their belts. Nevertheless, the bout against Fury would elevate Ngannou to another level. Thus paving the way for many top athletes to test free agency.
