Conor McGregor once admitted that he had only been defeated once in his entire UFC career. And that was when Dustin Poirier KO him in their second encounter. Conor’s official record currently stands at 22-6. However, back in 2021, he claimed that knockouts are the only things that matter in MMA. Probably McGregor’s biggest nemesis Khabib Nurmagomedov had something to say on this.

Back in 2021, Conor McGregor told ESPN: “My record in mixed martial arts competition is 19 wins and one loss. I only count knockouts… The only thing that’s final in this business is a knockout. All the other things – the decisions, the taps – all that s*** means nothing to me.” Khabib Nurmagomedov who had previously defeated Conor in one of the biggest showdowns in UFC history commented on ESPN’s post on Instagram saying, “There is nothing better in this sport than bring your opponent to the deep ocean, let them know what they’re about, and let them tap.” During an episode of JRE, podcast guest Shane Gillis said in amusement, ” What’s scarier than a white Muslim just talking sh*t”. He declared Khabib to be one of the scariest men on earth.

Joe Rogan and Shane Gillis discussed the rivalry between McGregor and Khabib and Khabib’s cold reply to one of Conor’s delusional takes. The UFC commentator was in awe as he reflected on a cold reply from ‘The Eagle’ directed towards McGregor’s taunts. He said, “I take people into deep waters and they discover themselves. That should be the name of his book. That should be the title of his book”.

Conor McGregor recently took to social media to share a brief 30-second clip of himself engaged in a sparring session alongside Ian Machado Garry. This friendly sparring session followed a casual dinner outing at Dublin’s The Black Forge Inn. The two Irish fighters have been in contact with each other for a while now. McGregor has been a vocal supporter of Garry since his UFC debut in 2021. The question of whether McGregor views Garry as his potential heir remains open to interpretation.

Garry currently boasts an impeccable UFC record. His professional UFC record boasts 13 wins and 0 losses, with 6 consecutive wins in the UFC. His most recent performance featured a dominating victory over Neil Magny at UFC 292. In contrast, McGregor has been out of the fight game for a while now.
