Josh Emmett had one of the most brutal knockout victories in 2023. Emmet knocked out Bryce Mitchell at UFC 295 with a brutal overhand right and possibly caused a seizure on Mitchell. Emmett’s power was a topic of discussion in the recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience that had Kid Rock as the guest.
Rogan was in the commentary booth at UFC 295 and had witnessed Emmett’s knockout of Mitchell. Moreover, Kid Rock was front row at UFC 296 along with former US President Donald Trump. Both Rogan and Rock were in awe of the knockout, and they spoke of it on JRE. Nonetheless, this is what Rogan said about Emmett.
Josh Emmett might be the hardest puncher in that division...He hits so hard...Josh Emmett is just a ball of muscle...that guy hits anybody, they go night night... Cr*zy power man. His power is preposterous!Joe Rogan via Joe Rogan Experience
Kid Rock agreed with Rogan’s assessment. Moreover, he went on to state that he thought Mitchell was dead after the knockout blow. This was due to the sound of the punch that Kid Rock felt at UFC 295. Kid Rock also revealed that he had only witnessed a handful of UFC events, but what he witnessed at UFC 295 was worth it.
Joe Rogan also spoke about another devastating knockout of Emmett against Michael Johnson. Rogan was not in the commentary booth then, as it was Daniel Cormier, Dominick Cruz, and Jon Anik.
Joe Rogan on the punching power of Ilia Topuria
Ilia Topuria became the new featherweight UFC champion at UFC 298, the recent PPV. Topuria knocked out long-reigning champion Alexander Volkanovski, and the MMA community is in awe of Topuria. Joe Rogan witnessed the brutal power of the Georgian fighter as he was in the commentary booth at UFC 298. Rogan had also witnessed Topuria’s exceptional grappling at UFC 282 when he submitted Bryce Mitchell.
Rogan spoke of Topuria’s punching power in his recent podcast episode that featured Kid Rock. On the podcast, Rogan remarked that Josh Emmett had the ‘touch of death’ in his hands. Moreover, Rogan went on to state that Topuria also has a similar kind of punching power. Like Emmett’s brutal knockouts of Mitchell and Michael Johnson, Topuria also has similar ones against Volkanovski and Jai Herbert.
Incidentally, Topuria’s fight before UFC 298 was against Josh Emmett. The Georgian fighter dominated Emmett en route to a unanimous decision victory. Moreover, one of the scorecards of the bout was an astonishing 50-42 in favor of Topuria.
