Joe Rogan has a history of discussing controversies on his podcast. The Joe Rogan Experience engages in open and unfiltered conversations with a wide range of guests. It has made him a prominent but sometimes polarizing media figure.
UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley came on the podcast recently. Rogan and O’Malley talked about Catholic churches and their connection with child molestation. Rogan said, “The Catholic Church is so inexorably connected to molestation that if you say catholic priest. People think your kids getting f*****. That’s insane. Like a catholic priest says hey, I want your son to come over to my house for a sleepover. Everybody goes ‘What you’re gonna be alone with the kids, The f*** you are.”
Rogan said when people talk about Catholic priests talking about kids, they generally connect with child molestation, which was crazy. O’Malley agreed to Rogan and doubled down on the severity of the situation.
Over the past few decades, an alarming number of child abuse scandals have come to the forefront within Catholic churches across the globe. These deeply troubling revelations have shaken the church’s foundations and prompted extensive investigations by law enforcement and civil authorities. The fallout from these scandals led to numerous legal actions against the church. It raised questions about the Church’s handling of such misconduct.
These disturbing revelations do not remain as isolated incidents but have affected communities and individuals in many countries. This widespread exposure has had a profound impact on the reputation and trust of the Catholic Church, which has faced calls for greater transparency, accountability, and reforms to prevent future occurrences of child abuse within its institutions.

Joe Rogan claims the Vatican City is a place consisting of P*dophiles and stolen artworks
Joe Rogan has spoken against the Catholic Church multiple times on his podcast. Once, he slammed the Vatican for becoming the place where child abuse and stolen art remain tolerant. On an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, when they explored Pope Francis and the various hidden scandals within the Catholic Church, he made these comments alongside fellow podcasters Francis Foster and Konstantin Kisin.
Rogan raised questions, wondering why there isn’t more widespread concern about the Vatican. He mentioned his recent visit to Italy and pointed out that the Vatican, despite its small size of approximately a hundred acres, is considered a country within a city. In his opinion, it is a place filled with ped*philes and stolen artwork.
Continuing the conversation, Rogan brought up the former Pope Benedict, noting that he faced allegations of crimes against humanity in other countries. Rogan criticized Benedict for what he described as malicious actions, including relocating offenders, which, in one instance, led to the abuse of numerous deaf children.
Rogan couldn’t believe the situation, calling it insane. Instead of addressing the problem within the church, he thought they chose to move the offender to a place where their actions would be overlooked because of the victims’ disabilities.
