Comedian and actor Ron White was a recent guest on his podcast, Joe Rogan Experience. During the conversation, the game of pool was a topic of discussion, and so was Efren Reyes.
Efren Reyes is a world-renowned pool player from the Phillippines. White was the one who brought up Reyes’s name to Rogan. He saw videos of Reyes on his social media and inquired about him to Rogan. Efren Reyes is not the only Filipino that Rogan admires. Rogan is also a big fan of 8-division boxing champion Manny Pacquiao. Both Reyes and Pacquiao are extremely popular in the UFC in their respective fields, and fans deeply respect them.

Rogan explained that Reyes changed how the players played the game of pool. The comedian explained that Reyes brought up the loose and relaxed grip technique. Before Reyes, American pool players had a tight grip. Efren popularized the new style, making viewers much more interested in the sport. For the viewers, how Reyes played seemed like a combination of dance and magic.
Rogan also shared the interesting story of how Reyes used the name Cesar Morales when he came to the US. It was a ploy by Reyes to continue playing the sport as his reputation invoked fear in opponents. Interestingly, Reyes is also an avid Chess player like the controversial Andrew Tate.
