Joe Rogan and Will Haris talked with each other during one episode of the popular podcast, ‘Joe Rogan Experience’. The documentary filmmaker manages the YouTube channel ‘Anatomy of a Fighter,’ which boasts a subscriber base exceeding 500,000. His documentary on Dagestan and ‘The Eagle’ has garnered millions of views on the platform. When addressing the worries regarding Harris’ trip to Dagestan.
During the conversation between Rogan and Harris regarding the apparent absence of women in the documentary. The filmmaker readily clarified that this omission was intentional, driven by cultural considerations. When asked by the JRE host why Dagestani women weren’t featured in the documentary, Harris said:
“They literally just said, like I talked to a couple of them, a couple people over there [Dagetsan] and they were like ‘We look at our women as like queens and we cover them because in the Quran, you know the man is weak to the flesh.’ So they don’t want their women to be looked at by other men.”

It’s worth noting that his documentary focused on Dagestan and Khabib Nurmagomedov, which has been the most significant achievement of Harris’ career.

Khabib’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, once talked about why the fighter’s wife always hides her face in public. According to Abdulmanap, a husband instructs his wife to dress modestly, and she complies. He believes that her beauty should be reserved exclusively for him. This is not a topic for debate today, as this matter was settled 400 years ago.
