“Your body goes eeek!” Joe Rogan hilariously explains effects of nasty liver punch to podcast guests

Joe Rogan is one of the most competent men to talk about fighting. The UFC commentator has been associated with martial arts all his life. Here is how he describes what a liver punch feels like
“Dude it f****n hurts,” Joe said. He was doing a podcast with ‘Legion of Skanks’. They are a comedy podcast where Big Jay Oakerson, Luis J. Gomez, and Dave Smith, three stand-up comedians from NYC, get together every week to tell obscene stories, and discuss the week’s most viral incidents. They have been called “The Most Offensive Podcast on Earth”. Apart from being a podcaster and a UFC commentator, Joe has always been a comedian.
One of the members of the Legion of Skanks inquired about body shots. He mentioned seeing fighters crumble after a good shot to the liver. To this, Rogan offered to give the member a body shot to show how it feels. He explained, “it’s a horrible feeling that like…shocks your body.”
“Your body goes eeek!,” Rogan said. He explains how a fighter usually sets up a body shot. He said, “if someone is standing in front of you and they hit you with a left hook, most likely they’ll be hitting you in the liver.” It is strike to the right side of the ribcage that damages the liver.
Joe Rogan praises Canelo Alvarez’s mastery in liver shots
Continuing the podcast, Joe Rogan marvels at the skill of Mexican professional boxer Canelo Alvarez. He said, “You know who’s one of the master of it, is Canelo Alvarez.” Rogan pulls out a compilation of Canelo’s body shots to show the guests. He mentions one particular shot from Alvarez which he liked.
Rogan said, “…he’s got a beautiful one where steps in, and just f****n rips that left hook to the liver.” The podcast was nearly three years ago and Canel Alvarez has stepped up a lot since then. The Mexican boxer has cemented his name as one of the stars in the boxing scene.
At just 32 years of age, Canelo has won multiple world championships in four weight classes. He unified titles in three of those weight classes and lineal titles in two. He is the first and only boxer in history to become undisputed champion at super middleweight.
