“Best post-fight speech” Joe Rogan lauds Michael Chandler for his octagon interview at UFC 274

Joe Rogan, like many UFC fans around the world, is grateful for the signing of Michael Chandler to the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The UFC commentator recently praised “Iron” for cutting one of the best promos in the company’s history.

In May of 2022, UFC put together one of the best pay-per-view cards. Michael Chandler, the one-time UFC title contender was matched up against former interim champion, a legend of the sport, Tony Ferguson. The fight had one of the best finishes in history and possibly the greatest of the year. Michael knocked out Ferguson with a front kick and what followed after that was more iconic.

Joe Rogan was one of the commentators in the booth for the pay-per-view event UFC 274 and got to talk to Chandler inside the octagon following the win. As Joe was asking him about the fight in the octagon interview, Chandler took over the mic and gave one of the most iconic call-outs in the history of the promotion and expressed his interest to fight Conor McGregor.

On his podcast, with guest, Cameron Hanes, Joe spoke about this iconic moment and said, “When I interviewed him after the fight, it was the best ever post-fight speech I’ve ever heard in my life. He’s screaming ‘CONOR MCGREGOR!!'”

Not only did Michael surprise Joe with his post-fight call out, but the lightweight fighter also showcased one of the best finishes in the history of the sport. There have been a handful of front kick knockouts in the UFC but Rogan believes not many have been as clean as the Chandler KO.

“Chandler’s a wild man. That knockout of Tony Ferguson was the most intense head kick knockout I’ve ever seen. It is rare that a guy of Ferguson’s level just gets flatlined with a headkick like that. And to have it be a front kick,” said Rogan talking to Cameron Hanes on the JRE podcast, episode #1819.
