Joe Rogan recently talked about the famous Nick Diaz tagline back in the early days of his podcast. Rogan is now at episode #2123. The meteoric rise of the podcast can be attributed to the controversial nature of the show, where free speech is prioritized over everything else.

“Train by day, Joe Rogan Podcast by night, all day” is a tagline from the early days of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. It was first uttered by UFC legend Nick Diaz after his win over B.J. Penn at UFC 137. Rogan was present there in the octagon when Diaz said it. He included the line in the opening sequence of episode #153 in 2011.
Episode #153 had one of the most recurring and loved guests, comedian Joey Diaz. Rogan said that the best thing about the statement was that it did not even make sense. And that is why it was perfect. This was back in October 2011. Rogan’s podcast has grown monumentally to become one of the most renowned podcasts on the planet. He recently landed a contract renewal with Spotify for over $200 million dollars.
Spotify reveals the actual size of Joe Rogan’s podcast
Spotify recently revealed the ginormous influence the ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ has in terms of audience size. Reportedly the number of followers for “The Joe Rogan Experience,” is pegging at a whopping 14.5 million.
This makes Rogan’s podcast one of the most popular on the platform. Rogan overshadows his other competitor podcasts on the platform like TED Talks Daily, Call Her Daddy, and The New York Times’ tenfold. It is interesting to see how Rogan’s popularity and allure have only grown over the years despite the many backlashes and controversies that his name has been dragged into over the years.
In May 2020, Joe Rogan signed an exclusive licensing deal with Spotify. The deal was valued at around $100 million at the time. In 2023, Rogan renewed his contract with Spotify in a multi-year partnership deal. While the exact terms were not disclosed, reports showed that the deal was worth up to $250 million.
