UFC commentator, long-time podcaster and stand-up comedian, Joe Rogan is no stranger to discussing martial arts. In an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience with Brian Moses and Freddie Gibbs, Joe Rogan discussed the legitimacy of Hollywood’s greatest combat sports stars.
Joe Rogan recalled watching Chuck Norris during childhood and resembling his fighting style during his own days as a martial arts practitioner. Joe mentioned Bruce Lee’s instincts and his ability to face an opponent in a real situation. This is when the podcaster recalled an incident about Michael Jai White at Legend’s gym in California.
“Michael Jai White is absolutely legit! Michael Jai White broke the chain on the heavy bag at Legend’s gym. Eddie Bravo rather asked him to demonstrate the way he does a sidekick,” Joe Rogan continued. “This dude does a hopping sidekick to the bag. The bag goes ****. The bag snapped,” an amazed Joe Rogan told Freddie Gibbs about Michael Jai White’s legitimacy as a combat sports athlete.

UFC 285 is scheduled for March 5, with Jon Jones vs Ciryl Gane as the headliner for the vacant heavyweight title. Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones is set to return after three years, only this time as a heavyweight. The fighter took three years off to naturally bulk and build strength, moving up to the heavyweight division.
Jon Jones has a record of 13 title defenses and has the most dominant UFC and MMA career so far. Jones is a slight underdog due to his long lay-off and inactivity. He is an +100 underdog.
On the other hand, Jones’ opponent and former interim heavyweight champion, Ciryl Gane is an active heavyweight with unmatched skills on the stand-up. Ciryl Gane is a -120 favorite in the betting odds going by most sportsbooks. The UFC 285 event will also include Valentina Shevchenko vs Alexa Grasso for the UFC women’s flyweight championship, and newcomer Bo Nickal vs Jamie Pickett.
