Joe Rogan (L), Jake Paul (R)
Joe Rogan is a man of many talents. He is a commentator and on-screen personality for the UFC aside from being a comedian and the host of the Joe Rogan Experience. However, he is also an experienced martial artist, very well-versed in Taekwondo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
And despite his credentials in combat, he believes he would not do well in a fight against Jake Paul. “The Problem Child” has started to legitimize his claims with victories over UFC legends like Tyrone Woodley and Anderson Silva. Andrew Schulz once asked him whether he would be able to beat the YouTuber and Joe Rogan said, “He’d probably f*ck me up. He’s a really good boxer, he’s a good boxer.”
And when asked whether the bout being in kickboxing would change something, Joe explained that kickboxing is a young man’s game. “When I was a younger man and I had younger knees, I could be kickboxing people… There’s a reality of knees and backs.”
It seems, like everyone, the time has caught up to the former Fear Factor host. However, in his day, Rogan was a national-level taekwondo competitor. And his credentials in martial arts are respected by everyone in combat sports, even UFC legends, and former champions.

Back in 2011, Joe Rogan uploaded a video of him coaching former two-division UFC champion Georges St-Pierre on how to throw the perfect turning sidekick. This was a time when the JRE was in its infancy and Rogan was most widely recognized for his work on TV.
Joe Rogan, as mentioned prior was a former Taekwondo competitor. And this is evident in the video as even, in the beginning, the UFC commentator can be seen throwing kicks on the heavy bag that sound like gunshots. All the while GSP observes him, clearly in amazement of Rogan’s perfect technique. And this was in spite of the floor being covered in sweat after the two’s workout before the video was shot.
GSP was also asked what would happen if someone in the UFC got hit with one of Rogan’s kicks. The former champ responded saying, “Yeah, seriously, [they would be] knocked out.” And as the video went on, there was a quite marked improvement in GSP’s form. Joe even acknowledged as he agreed that out of all the fighters that Rogan had coached, the Frenchman had shown the quickest development.
