UFC color commentator Joe Rogan was recently impressed by a 25-year-old contender at UFC Fight Night: Ribas vs. Namajunas. Payton Talbott is three fights into his UFC career and Rogan has already declared him a future superstar. Here is what happened:

Joe Rogan recently hosted Joey Diaz on his podcast. In one segment he asked Joey if he saw the most recent UFC Fight Night and proceeded to talk about one of the undercard fights.

Did you see this past fight night? This past weekend with Rose Namajunas? In the undercard this kid Cameron Saaiman...he fought this dude Payton Talbott and I'd never seen this dude fight before. This kid is a motherf***er dude. He's so good. He's 25 years old... This is my first time watching him and I was like Jesus Christ man. He is so f***** good.

Rogan described Talbott’s knockout hit at Saaiman as sounding like a baseball bat hit a coconut. The UFC commentator said that Talbott was incredible in the octagon and that he looked like he was having fun against Saaiman. Rogan was also intrigued by Talbott’s interesting personality. After hearing him talk, Rogan said he sees a future superstar in the 25-year-old contender.

Cameron Saaiman is a South African mixed martial artist who competes in the UFC’s bantamweight division. The two fought this past March and Talbott knocked Saaiman down and won the fight after repeatedly punching Saaiman’s head on the ground. This was just 21 seconds into the second round and Talbott is now two fights into his UFC career and is yet to taste his first professional defeat.

Joe Rogan’s future superstar Payton Talbott does not want to be compared with Sean O’Malley

Payton Talbott does not like being compared to bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley. Despite a few similarities, Talbott said that they do not fight very similarly and would rather not be compared to anybody.

Talbott recently sat down for an interview on The MMA Hour. There he talked about a potential fight with O’Malley and what would happen in that fight.

But if you were to see me and him fight, it would be a very different stylistic fight.

He said he would be pushing the pace while O’Malley would be drawing out reactions and trying to technically outclass him.

Talbott previously said at his UFC Vegas 89 press conference that he is ultimately aiming for O’Malley. He also called out Dominick Cruz saying he would like to take him on next. It will be interesting to see how Payton Talbott’s UFC career turns out as he fights bigger and better opponents.
