Joe Rogan often talks about masculinity and frequently highlights conventional masculinity-related traits like perseverance, physical fitness, and self-reliance. Other than that, he has also stressed the value of emotional intelligence, self-improvement, and open-mindedness.
American entrepreneur and CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman, came on the JRE. The pair talked about the sudden drop in testosterone in American men over the last few decades. The pair went into detail and discussed all the potential factors that may have affected the process.
While talking about the topic of masculinity and testosterone, Rogan gives his opinion on why society needs it. He said:
We need testosterone. We need agressive men and protectors...we need them because there's other agressive men that are evil. So we need protectors from ourselves. We need the good, strong people to protect us from bad strong people.... you're seeing a feminization of male spices.Joe Rogan on JRE
The MMA commentator asserts that there is a need for strong-willed men with elevated testosterone levels to stand up against those who perpetrate harm. He contended that individuals of unwavering moral character and physical robustness play a pivotal role in shielding others from those who wield both physical strength and ethical ambiguity. He also emphasizes that this is an essential requirement for the well-being of society.
Rogan’s perspective goes beyond conventional stereotypes of masculinity. Instead, it focuses on the idea that being assertive and morally upright are qualities that should be harnessed for the greater good.
Joe Rogan comments on toxic masculinity
In JRE #1936, Joe Rogan discussed how the “toxic masculinity” concept has made many men feel bad about their natural traits. He highlighted that many guys feel unfairly labeled as evil just because they’re male. They often found it hard to deal with societal expectations of traditional masculinity. Furthermore, it can feel that their natural instincts and interests are seen as foolish or wrong.
In continuing on with his talk, Joe Rogan underlined the significance of respecting each person as a human being. He emphasized that regardless of gender, it is critical to see everyone in today’s world as fellow human beings. Rogan pointed out that people shouldn’t be made to feel bad about the things they naturally enjoy because they have no choice over their birth circumstances, including being born as men.
Rogan has always spoken about problems related to men and society has made them feel guilty about their masculinity. However, the UFC color commentator thinks that it’s important for men to accept it and choose the correct way to use it.
