Joe Rogan in conversation with Aaron Rodgers advises people to 'Vote Republican'
‘Podcast King’ Joe Rogan is once again surrounded by controversies online. The users online are asking for his removal from Spotify. This backlash came after Rogan told his listeners to ‘Vote Republicans’.
Joe was joined by Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. They had a lot of discussions including the effect that Covid – 19 restrictions had on people. During the conversation, the hosts went off on the government for the mismanagement during the pandemic.
While discussing COVID-19 restrictions in California and across the U.S, The Host commented that “No one who is alive today had ever experienced a true pandemic and I’m hoping that now that this is over people are going to recognize that some serious errors were made and not repeat those.”
Rodgers asks the Podcasters’ advice for the people that suffered during the Pandemic, “So what do you tell those people?” The UFC commentator who is known to express his opinions without any filter replied, “‘Vote Republican’. That’s what a lot of them are going to do anyway.”
Twitter users are calling to boycott Spotify until they drop Joe Rogan’s podcast
The Podcast King’s comment has sparked a controversy online with Twitter users calling for a boycott of Spotify until the platform removes the JRE podcast from their platform.
The podcast was made exclusively available on Spotify after a deal for a reported $200 million back in 2020. In the past users as well as celebrities have called for Rogan’s boycott for his controversial takes on the Pandemic. They also claimed that the UFC commentator was a Racist and a peddler of fake news.
A group called “Occupy Democrats” tweeted in response to the Podcaster comment labelling it ‘dangerous rhetoric as the GOP embraces full fascism’. The group tweeted, “If you support a boycott of Spotify until they drop Joe Rogan’s podcast after he just ignorantly urged Americans to “vote Republican” as payback for businesses closing down due to the pandemic — dangerous rhetoric as the GOP embraces full fascism — please retweet and follow us!”
Other Twitter users also reacted to this statement by the UFC commentator by calling him a hypocrite and others pointing out the fact that he was expressing his views which are deemed as Free Speech in any democratic country.
