Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub recently met with an unfortunate incident as he flipped his truck upside down. Sean Strickland caught wind of the incident and made his thoughts on the incident known via social media. Brendan Schaub retired from combat sorts years ago and ventured into the podcasting and comedy world with support from Joe Rogan.
Strickland had appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience before his fight with Israel Adesanya at UFC 293. However, Rogan was very critical of Strickland after he came to know about Strickland’s sparring session with streamer Sneako. The incident which happened at UFC PI made the UFC ban Sneako. Nonetheless, this is what Strickland tweeted about Schaub’s accident.
....The panic in that man's eyes lmao!!!... Maybe you should come hang out with me, I'll help you not be a pussy.Sean Strickland via X
Strickland also found time to criticize Schaub for the incident, as he even cited his accident. The former middleweight champion had suffered a motorcycle accident when he competed at welterweight. Incidentally, it was one of the reasons why Strickland moved up to middleweight.
Strickland does not have a fight lined up. He had called for an immediate rematch with Dricus Du Plessis, who won the title from him at UFC 297. However, the probability for the fight to happen is very low. The UFC already planned to make Du Plessis vs Adesanya for UFC 300 but could not get it done.
Sean Strickland details school life to Joe Rogan
Joe Rogan is a big combat sports fan and immensely respects the fighters. As such, he is a big fan of Sean Strickland and deeply appreciates his fight style. He is also empathetic towards Strickland’s troubled past, particularly with his abusive father and drug-addicted mother.
Strickland spoke of it in his appearance on JRE. In addition to the domestic abuse, Strickland also spoke of his life at school. He revealed that a teacher at middle school told him that people like him were the reason why prisons existed in the country. The sentiment did not change even when he was in high school, as the high school teachers also labeled Strickland a rotten egg.
Funnily enough, Strickland agreed with the middle school teacher’s assessment, which Rogan did not. He cited that even a bully will stop hurting people if they practice martial arts. Strickland also agreed with Rogan’s statement that training could cultivate a brotherhood.
