Chuck Liddell is one of the big names in the world of MMA and the UFC. Joey Diaz recently recalled a hilarious story of how he made Eddie Bravo and Dana White think Chuck Liddell had died.
UFC Hall of Famer and MMA veteran Chuck Liddell is often credited with pioneering and popularising the sport of MMA in mainstream America. Born in Santa Barbara, California, Liddell fought in the Light-heavyweight and Heavyweight divisions from 1998 to 2018, when he made his comeback fight against Tito Ortiz. In the year 2005, Chuck Liddell became the UFC Light-heavyweight Champion. Liddell took on Randy Couture in their rematch at UFC 52 and took him down in the first round to claim the Light-heavyweight title.
Comedians Joey Diaz and Theo Von discussed the time when Diaz called Eddie Bravo to inform him about the death of Former Cuban President Fidel Castro. Bravo is a big Castro fan which is why Diaz had called him. But Eddie Bravo misheard ‘Fidel’ and thought Chuck ‘Liddell’ had died.
Eddie Bravo wasn’t alone. He was having dinner with UFC President Dana White. Diaz reveals how Bravo panicked at the news as he said, “… He looks at Dana White he goes Chuck Liddell is dead I’ll call you back”.

Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz were great friends. Both were managed by Dana White, who was yet to become the UFC President. Ortiz had once said that he would never fight Liddell, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell fought thrice, each time with ferocious rivalry and deep contempt for each other. Their rivalry extended beyond the octagon as they fell out of friendship. Liddell once said that he doesn’t want to have anything to do with Ortiz.
But Israel Adesanya somehow managed to unite the two veterans. After Adesanya beat Pereira at UFC 287, he hosted an after-party where the two sworn rivals could be seen grooving to the music together and enjoying their time.
