The aftermath of fights is really unbearable for most fighters. The pain and physical stress that they undergo are barely brought up during conversations about fighters and their fights. It takes a lot of medicines and drugs to recover from the pain caused by fights and Johnny Walker has only recently figured out that he was being drugged without his knowledge.

On the Portuguese podcast, Walker said, “I had no idea, and only found out four or five months ago, that CBD has a small amount of THC in it, a small percentage, and I’m extremely allergic to THC.” CBD (cannabidiol) oil is widely used among athletes to recover from pains in their joints after their fights. Little did Walker know that the THC he is allergic to was present in the CBD he used.

Over the past three years, Walker, who is allergic to THC has been consuming CBD to recover from his pain. This has had a long-term effect on the fighter’s mental health and has often driven him “crazy”. It did not stop there, the fighter also experienced episodes of panic attacks during his vacation.

“I went to Thailand and the first week there I had an episode, the CBD I used had higher levels of THC. It’s not a huge amount but high enough for my brain. It took me 10 days to get back to normal. I was messed up for 10 days,” said Johnny on the podcast. [H/T MMA Fighting]
