Jon Jones is the arguable GOAT of MMA. However, he has also had a fair share of controversy. He has had troubles with the USADA with doping violations. Moreover, he has also had problems with substance abuse. One of the low points of his career was when he hit a pregnant woman’s car with his car. The UFC had to strip Jones of his light heavyweight title due to this hit-and-run felony.

Jones had his license suspended at the time. Vanessa Sonnenberg, the pregnant woman, had a broken arm and wrist due to the accident. Recently, Jones tweeted about his driver’s license renewal on X. This is what he tweeted.

Just renewed my drivers license, took a picture and noticed some chubby cheeks right away. The lady asked how much I weigh, I said 270. Lady behind me said well at least you carry it well.

Jones’s tweet was not received well by fans. They trolled Jones as they used his past hit-and-run conviction against him. Even though Jones has had past troubles with the law, he has turned over a new leaf since his return from hiatus.

Jon Jones will fight Stipe Miocic on his return, as per UFC CEO Dana White. The UFC originally scheduled Jones to fight Miocic at UFC 295, but Jones suffered a pectoral injury. He has had surgery and will presumably return in late 2024. Rumors are that both Jones and Miocic will retire after their fight.

Fans react to Jon Jones’ recent tweet about driving license renewal

Jon Jones is currently in rehabilitation after his surgery. He recently had a spat on social media with interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall. Aspinall wanted to fight either Jones or Miocic so badly that he used social media to push it. However, the UFC and Dana White were not in for the idea.

Fans highly await Jones’ return. He had a topsy-turvy relationship with MMA fans during his light heavyweight title reign. However, he had a hero’s welcome when he came back from a three-year hiatus at UFC 285. He will likely do good PPV numbers on his return.
