Jon Jones has set UFC 282 as the date to make his triumphant heavyweight debut

Jon Jones has a date in mind so as to have his dream debut at heavyweight and fans won’t be happy to hear it. The former light heavyweight champion has been talking about a move up in weight for ages but has never materialized it into concrete action.
Jon last stepped foot in the octagon in early 2020 where he etched out a close decision victory to retain his championship. While Reyes has gone on to decisively lose all of his bouts since fans passionately argue to this day about a case where Reyes should have won the fight.
It is with this cloud of doubt and second straight title defense that could have gone to the challenger that Jon decided to take a hiatus from the sport. The stated reason was that he finally was ready to make the anticipated move to Heavyweight within 2020.

While Jon did bulk up, it barely meant he was sure to step in the cage. Shortly after his HoF induction in Las Vegas, Jon was arrested on domestic violence charges. This led to him being outcasted by the Jacksonwink MMA Gym, the team that had been his home for over a decade.
Now Jones has decided what event he wants to make his return at. Today Jones tweeted saying, “UFC 282” As we know this is the year-end PPV so many are skeptical if the debut even happens as the date is comfortably close enough to push it ahead to the next year.
Jones’ recent training footage does seem to show improvements though it would be false to say he carries the same spark he did during his LHW days. Jones was even mocked by fans for his perceived lack of speed in the latest clip of hitting the pads.

Bony does have a picture in mind however when it comes to making his debut at heavyweight. He shared the same with his fans today. “My goal, my dream is to have my first heavyweight title fight look like my first light heavyweight title fight. Pure domination, “ read the tweet.
Jon in his first title fight against Shogun Rua, dismantled the former PRIDE superstar at will. Hurting the champion with an early high knee he was able to comfortably cruise his way to a finish in round 3. In the process, he became the youngest champion in UFC history.
Jon Jones is rumored to be going up against former champion Stipe Miocic in his Heavyweight Debut. However recently Dana White has stated publicly that he wishes to see Jones fight Ngannou before the Cameroonian leaves the company.
