UFC 285 is closing in and so it Jon Jones’ training camp. The headliner of the UFC 285 event will feature Jon Jones’ return to the octagon after a three-year lay-off to fight Ciryl Gane for the vacant UFC heavyweight title.
In a recent statement, French heavyweight and former interim heavyweight champion, Ciryl Gane referred to himself as a ‘lazy’ fighter. “I’m lazy. that’s the truth. I only train when a fight is announced. I had my fight against Tuivasa, barely trained since then, and now I’m back at it since the Jones fight has been announced,” Ciryl Gane told French MMA media, La Sueur.
In response to Gane’s statement, Jon Jones responded rather critically. “I smell a trap, either way, doesn’t matter, I’m training my a** off,” Jones wrote in a tweet. Ciryl Gane’s most recent win came against Australian heavyweight, Tai Tuivasa at UFC Fight Night last year.
Considered the ‘GOAT’ by many, Jones is looking forward to making the most legendary return in the UFC. Jones’ resume includes names like Daniel Cormier, Dominick Reyes, Thiago Santos, Alexander Gustaffson, Rampage Jackson, Lyoto Machida, Rashad Evans, and many more.
