Masvidal greets Trump at the Miami Airport
Jorge Masvidal and Donald Trump have an unusual bond. Masvidal was generally shy from politics in his entire career but a sudden shift came about in 2020 when he started ardently campaigning for the former president. Today as the FBI raided Trump’s residence in Florida, Masvidal was right there to back him up.
Trump’s Florida Home and the Winter White House during his presidency, Mar-a-Lago was raided by FBI agents in the early hours of Tuesday, in connection with documents that Trump allegedly took away from the White House.
On a larger scale, this is part of an ongoing investigation into Donald Trump and his role in the attempted coup on January 6th. While the trial is still ongoing, many former aids have testified against Trump and his carelessness regarding the fragile state of things on Jan 6th.
Trump would release a statement about the raid shortly after saying “Such an assault could only take place in broken, Third-World Countries,” he said. “Sadly, America has now become one of those countries, corrupt at a level not seen before.” alleging that the whole maneuver was done so that he doesn’t run for a third time in 2024.

Jorge Masvidal tweets in support of Former President Donald Trump
Masvidal seems to have taken Trump’s statement to heart as the fighter tweeted out a message in support of the former president with the exact same sentiments as that of Trump himself.
As we mentioned earlier Jorge’s affinity for Trump started in 2020, when he was scheduled as a short-notice replacement against Kamaru Usman, when he showed up wearing a blue MAGA cap to Abu Dhabi. This only grew further as Jorge joined him along on campaigning events across the 2020 election season.
This transpired into a further breakdown on Jorge’s side when Trump lost the election to Joe Biden and Masvidal joined the common Trump supporter on a fast-track route to Q Anon and other conspiracy theory cults.
MMA fans have often pointed out that Jorge is merely a campaign tool for Trump when he needs the Cuban Population in Florida to pay attention to him as Masvidal is in good standing among many. Shortly after the news of the raid was made public Jorge made a statement on Twitter.
He said, ” Sad day in the USA today. These are the tactics of Cuba and Venezuela. No matter what side of the aisle you are on, this ain’t right”
It can be noted as fun fact or an unfortunate co-incidence depending on the person you are, Jorge has only won 1 round ever since he started to dabble in politics full time. Shut up and dribble anyone?
