Jorge Masvidal has been on a fiery overdrive, dousing fighting words at everyone. Winning the inaugural UFC BMF championship in 2019, he one-upped Nate Diaz. Bagging the custom title with a 3rd-round TKO victory due to a doctor stoppage, he has been expectant on a rehash ever since. Recently, he made a violent obscure callout to the rival and even turned up at the Diaz Academy in Stockton. Another surprising name that finds place in his crosshairs, is Seth Rollins.
Masvidal recently took to social media to recant, saying that he’s “unretiring” from MMA. Soon after he has initiated a multitude of squabbles. From dousing fighting words at current “BMF” champ Justin Gaethje, in a covo with LowKickMMA to pinning PED substance abuse blames on “fake-American Gangster” Chael Sonnen. Concurrently, here’s what he said on Rollins to ESPN MMA’s Marc Raimondi:
Are you f***ing stupid bro? Has he heard of a guy like Yoel Romero? What the f*** are you talking about you moron...Brock Lesnar is a f***ing wrestler that got into pro wrestling. A lot of these MMA guys come from wrestling so if Brock can do it.Jorge Masvidal in an interview with ESPN MMA’s Marc Raimondi

Colby Daniel Lopez, or Rollins is a WWE superstar and former champ, performing on the RAW brand. While a clash with the current “BMF” or a crossover boxing match with Diaz is given, this feud is not. The thing putting all this into context is Rollins’ interview with Raimondi where he nudged UFC fighters struggling with non-seasonal weekly schedules in WWE.
He had invoked the case of former champ Ronda Rousey. The Strikeforce alum conquered the WMMA 135lbs class in UFC. She later transitioned to WWE and became an instant ace. However, as any UFC fighter would, she supposedly struggled with the weekly grind. Masvidal’s slapback thus comes from angstily missing this point.
What did Seth Rollins say about Ronda Rousey?
With UFC and WWE officially merging under the TKO umbrella, they might be grouped under the same. But there still lie massive differences between the working culture and the daily grind between the two, Consequently, WWE superstar Seth Rollins has reiterated it; earning the wrath of UFC Star, Jorge Masvidal who induced the case of genetic beasts Yoel Romero and Brock Lesnar.

As much as he respects the fighters who compete in the UFC, Rollins feels that the grueling schedule is too requiring. Speaking to ESPN MMA, he said:
I don’t want to knock Ronda Rousey because I love Ronda...She did a lot for our industry, for women in our industry and the fight industry in general, but it was tough for Ronda. She tried her damnedest and it was hard for her...But I don’t know, I’d love for somebody to come over and take a crack if you think you can hang. But it’s hard.Seth Rollins in an impromptu interview with ESPN MMA’s Marc Raimondi
WWE being vastly different, the roster of fighters operates with entertainment goals, with a daily grind in place. There is no offseason for UFC combatants, who train year-round. But, atypically they only duke it out in seasonal fight cards twice or thrice a year.
Rousey herself didn’t work a full schedule of televised events and weekly “house shows” of untelevised matches for local live crowds that do not stream on major platforms. Her main stints began with a supposed rivalry against WWE COO, Paul “Triple H” Levesque and his wife. Alongside, she later fought her way through the roster to win the brand championship belt.
Jorge Masvidal took this as a critique of MMA culture as opposed to wrestling entertainment. Concurrently, Michael Chandler called out rival, Conor McGregor in a full WWE-esque promo at Anaheim. The likes of Logan Paul have recognized the merit in the callout as a brazen promotion of the $21 billion merger. Rollins, however, said that Chandler’s promo needs work. This might just rile up ‘Gamebred‘ even further.
