Jorge Masvidal, the well-known MMA fighter, has issued a strong caution to Jake Paul regarding his upcoming boxing match against Nate Diaz. Masvidal, who previously faced Diaz in the UFC, believes that Diaz’s boxing prowess and experience will present a formidable challenge for Paul.

Nate Diaz left the UFC after 27 octagon battles. He is now set to make his professional boxing debut on August 5th in Dallas. The event, co-promoted by DAZN and Diaz’s own company, will feature an eight-round, 185-pound matchup between Diaz and Jake Paul. Although the latest developments and exchange between the two fighters have revealed that they may incorporate a 10-round fight instead of eight.

In their previous encounter at UFC 244 back in 2019, Masvidal emerged victorious over Diaz. Thus claiming the inaugural “BMF” title through a TKO due to a doctor’s stoppage. Since his departure from the UFC last year, Diaz has shifted his focus to boxing. This has prompted Masvidal to warn Paul about the challenges he will face.

While currently enjoying retirement, Masvidal is involved in the promotion of Gamebred Boxing. He expressed his desire to step into the boxing ring himself, citing his longstanding affinity for the sport. However, due to his contractual obligations with the UFC, he would need the organization’s permission to pursue a boxing match.

“I would absolutely engage in boxing,” Masvidal affirmed. “It’s something I’ve wanted to do,… I previously had a professional boxing fight around 14 or 15 years ago. “Boxing was my initial passion, so I would gladly participate in a boxing match if the UFC grants me permission,” he said. “They would have to support my endeavor by saying, ‘Yes, go ahead.’ Otherwise, I cannot pursue a boxing match.”
