Conor McGregor is known for his controversial history. The Irish star has experienced a challenging period in his career lately. After facing two consecutive losses against Dustin Poirier, questions about his future in the Octagon have arisen.

Despite his supposed fight with Michael Chandler, the match has yet to be scheduled. This has left fans growing restless. Moreover, McGregor has been engaging in call-outs against various fighters, such as Justin Gaethje, who defeated Poirier at UFC 291. However, these challenges appear empty threats, with the UFC showing no interest in making such a bout happen.

This behavior has caught the attention of Gaethje’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz. He did not hesitate to express his opinion about McGregor’s current demeanor. Speaking to TMZ, Abdelaziz criticized McGregor, stating that he has lost touch with his true self. He said McGregor is no longer the warrior he once was. Instead, he accused the Irish legend of merely talking without backing it up in the Octagon.

The manager further pointed out that McGregor’s failure to participate in the USADA program, coupled with his possible weight gain, reflects his desire for clout rather than focusing on his fighting career. “He’s a retired fighter. He’s not in the USADA program, he probably weighs almost close to 200 pounds. He just wants clout,” Abdelaziz said.

These critiques may seem harsh. However, many UFC fans agree that McGregor’s behavior aligns with Abdelaziz’s assessment. As a result of refusing to enroll in the USADA program, McGregor faces a six-month suspension. This could be extended if he continues to delay.

This lingering uncertainty surrounding his return has left fans eagerly awaiting any news of his comeback to the Octagon. McGregor’s actions and choices have led to concerns about his dedication to his fighting career. It has led to the perception that he may be more interested in seeking attention outside the Octagon than showcasing his skills.

Only time will tell if McGregor will prioritize his legacy as a fighter or continue down the path of attention-seeking endeavors. The much-anticipated bout with McGregor’s fellow TUF coach Michael Chandler will probably be shelved until 2024.
