Justin Gaethje is looking forward to beating Islam Makhachev in the future and settling his score with Khabib Nurmagomedov. Gaethje will be fighting Dustin Poirier at UFC 291 for the iconic BMF title on the line. Apart from the title, this fight also promises a title contender for the winner. When asked about fighting Islam Makhachev, Gaethje mentioned that he wants to beat the Dagestani in order to take revenge for his loss against Khabib Nurmagomedov in the past.
He said: “Yeah, absolutely. These would be two opportunities to kind of get my losses back. Khabib beat me, Islam is kind of the prodigy. So, I kind of get that fight back a little bit. He beat Oliveira so I can certainly get a two-for-one deal on that one. This chance I got right now is to get my second loss back. Alvarez is gone, not gonna get that one but Poirier has beat him.” to TMZ.
Gaethje has lost four fights in his UFC career and beating Makhachev will counter his losses against Charles Oliveira and Nurmagomedov. Other than that, he plans to beat Dustin Poirier to avenge the Eddie Alvarez loss too.
Colby Covington claims Dustin Poirier ran away from his fight

Poirier’s last fight was in November 2022 and since then he has been linked with various fighters. One of the biggest names was the grudge fight with Colby Covington but according to the ‘Chaos,’ Dustin didn’t want that smoke.
“From my side, I’ve been ready since day one, since the Jorge fight. I’ve accepted every fight that’s been offered my way. First it was Dustin, they wanted to make that fight,” Colby Covington said to Chael Sonnen.“They saw the potential and a big fight there and Dustin’s a p***y. He’s scared, he ran away from the challenge. Now we know that he’s all talk, he’s no walk.”
Covington called Dustin a p***y and claimed that the lightweight ran away from the challenge. However, now Poirier is back and his fight with Justin Gaethje has created a lot of hype. Both fighters are known for their toughness and aggressive nature which leads to entertaining fights.
