Last weekend at UFC 278, MMA fans saw the P4P king Kamaru Usman take on the #2 Leon Edwards in a Welterweight showdown in the main event. This fight was a rematch from their first meeting back in 2015. The Nigerian took the win in their first meeting via a Unanimous decision.

The loss saw the challenger went back to work on his skills and his wrestling. This has worked in the favour of the Birmingham native as he since hasn’t suffered a loss since 2015. He racked up a 10-fight win streak since.

Going into the second fight the Nigerian was on an undefeated streak in the UFC. This was Kamaru‘s sixth time defending his title after winning the title back in 2019. He had already defeated top contenders in his past defences, some of them even twice.

On the other hand, this fight was the first opportunity for Rocky at a UFC title shot. Although in the first round he showed improvements from the first fight and even became the first fighter to take Usman down in the UFC.

Although as the rounds progressed Usman started to take over the fight and started putting on gruelling pressure on Edwards. Going into the fifth round it seemed like another successful title defence for the champion. However, as his nickname, Rocky pulled out an upset after he threw a leg kick that sent the champion crashing down to the mat. The KO at UFC 278 seemed like something straight out of a movie.
