“Thanks my man”- Kamaru Usman hilariously responds to Jon Jones’ random declaration of love
Kamaru Usman Jon Jones
Kamaru Usman and Jon Jones get into friendly banter online. Kamaru Usman is currently the top fighter in UFC and to back that statement he is the pound-for-pound number one fighter.
After Jon Jones, Usman is probably the only fighter who has shown such a level of dominance over his opponents. Usman won the welterweight belt after defeating Tyron Woodley at UFC 235. Since then has defended his title on five multiple occasions against tough opponents such as Jorge Masvidal, Colby Covington, Gilbert Burns etc.
Usman has cleared the 175 division twice already and is currently looking unstoppable. The ‘ Nigerian Nightmare’ has shown his incredible striking as well as wrestling capabilities in his past fights. This is something Jones used to do and have when he was active and fighting. Jones as a fighter has an impressive fighting IQ and knows how to throw his opponents’ game plan and take control.
Last year, Usman beat Jones and became a UFC pound-for-pound ace and has been there for a long time. Jones has also been impressed by Usman’s performances and gas given the deserved respect. Last November while responding to a Twitter user, ‘Bones’ wrote :
“One could definitely argue that the man is doing some serious work.”
It was good to see the top fighters in the UFC giving respect to each other. This makes the fight community more positive and avoids clashes between fan bases.
Kamaru Usman’s hilarious reply to Jon Jones’ recent tweet
Recently, Jones made a tweet which most probably was pointed towards his fans and followers. The fighter took to Twitter to show his appreciation towards his supporters. Jones wrote :
“I freaking love you”
Usman took this opportunity to change the whole sense of the tweet and jokingly took it for himself. The fighter replied back to Jones by thanking him for his good words.
“Thanks my man ??,” wrote Usman on his official Twitter handle.
Both Usman and Jones are some of the biggest stars in UFC and have the capability to sell huge pay-per-view events. Usman is currently recovering from his hand injury but will most probably defend his title against Leon Edwards later this year. On the other hand, Jones is all set to take on Stipe Miocic in a heavyweight bout in September.
