“Falling in love with the sport again,” Kamaru Usman unfazed by back-to-back championship losses, ready to beat somebody up again
During his appearance on the Hotboxin' with Mike Tyson, Kamaru Usman talked about his reignited love for the sport of MMA.

Kamaru Usman has rediscovered his passion for the sport following consecutive defeats at the hands of Leon Edwards. During his time as the champion ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ had a very active schedule. Before being knocked out by Edwards, Kamaru Usman defended his title 5 times in two years. During his recent appearance on Mike Tyson‘s Hotboxin Usman talked about his return to the octagon.
Kamaru Usman fought Leon Edwards three times in the UFC. During their first encounter, Kamaru Usman displayed his elite wrestling and grappling skills inside the octagon. He won via unanimous decision and went on to become the champion after defeating Tyron Woodley. During their second match things more or less appeared the same. However, Leon Edwards managed to pull off a last-round knockout via a head kick to become the new welterweight champion. During the third fight, Leon managed to win via unanimous decision and ended up defending his title at UFC 286.
However, after his back-to-back loss, Usman looks ready for some action again. He is enjoying the process, learning, and getting used to becoming a challenger once again. “I’m just in the place where I’m loving the sport again, falling in love with the sport again. I’ve been training now and I just feel stronger. I’m doing certain things, and I’m liking that process again. Falling in love with the sport again, to where, for me, I might just wanna pop out in the next couple of months and beat somebody up again. I’m really starting to feel that. But it’s at my own terms now.” said Usman to Tyson.
Seeing Kamaru Usman fired up for his return, fans have started predicting who will his next opponent be. However, all Usman needs is one dominant performance and he will be fighting for the title once again.

Kamaru Usman’s knees are in constant pain
Former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman’s bad knee has been a problem for him for a long time. Usman has many times stated he needs to work through some of his injuries and his damaged knee. During his weigh-ins at UFC 286, many MMA fans suspected that Usman’s problem with his knee had grown much bigger. Joe Rogan on his podcast revealed exactly how serious of an issue is the Nigerian Nightmare facing.
“Kamaru has destroyed knees. His knees are f*ked up. It’s like he’s in constant pain. He fights in pain. His knees are so f*ked up that he walks down the stairs backwards. If you look at the difference between the musculature in his legs and the musculature in his upper body, it’s a drastic difference,” said Rogan. He also added that constant pain is so terrible that Usman has difficulties walking on the concrete as well.
According to Usman, he’s been facing knee issues since his inter-collegiate wrestling days. Yet Kamaru Usman has managed to put on a dominant performance and looks invincible with such a grave injury. Kamaru Usman as of now has faced back-to-back losses against Usman and is looking to make his return in a couple of months.
