American rapper Kanye West, known for his outspoken views on Israel, is at the center of a controversy. West’s name was found on a missile intended for Gaza, which was claimed by Israeli MMA fighter Haim Gozali. This has sparked renewed discussions around the Israel-Palestine conflict.
Israeli MMA fighter Haim Gozali claims to have written Kanye West’s name on an Israeli missile. This is in the context of the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. Gozali has also claimed credit for writing “Kanye West Flying to Gaza” on the missile. This is not the first time Gozali has pulled off such a stunt. Taking to X (previously known as Twitter) Gozali shared a picture of the missile and wrote:
" @kanyewest you don’t like us jewish. So we don’t like you too !!!"
Earlier in November, the Israeli MMA fighter, also known as “The Israeli Batman”, wrote the names of four Muslim UFC fighters on a missile bound for Gaza. The names included Khabib Nurmagomedov, Islam Makhachev, Khamzat Chimaev, and Belal Muhammad. The original post has since been taken down. Gozali has sparked controversy for the stunt.
The Israel–Palestine conflict is a dispute over land that both Palestinians and Israelis claim. The conflict dates back to the late 19th century, when Zionists sought to establish a homeland for the Jewish people in Palestine. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has killed tens of thousands of people and displaced millions. The conflict has consequences that will echo long after the last battle is won.
Who is this MMA fighter who wrote Kanye West’s name on the Israeli missile?
Haim Gozali is an Israeli mixed martial artist (MMA) fighter. He’s a 5th-degree Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Renzo Gracie. Gozali is known for his time in Bellator MMA, where he scored the second-fastest submission in the Welterweight division in 2017.
Gozali’s MMA career began in 1998 when he lost to Carlos Newton by armbar. He has a career record of 15 wins, 6 losses, and 0 draws. His last fight was in October 2021, and he is currently on a 7-fight winning streak. He is also a veteran of BKFC, ADCC, and Jungle Fight.
Gozali has faced backlash for a post that included the names of Khamzat Chimaev and other Muslim UFC fighters on an IDF missile. The post was considered insensitive and singled out the fighters for their support of Palestine. Gozali has also posted about Chimaev on TikTok and Instagram. In a TikTok video, Gozali said that Chimaev wanted to kill him and that he would fight Chimaev in Bare Knuckle FC. Gozali also posted on Instagram calling out Chimaev for submission grappling bout.
