Holland believes he will take Kamaru Usman's spot as Welterweight Champion
Kevin Holland’s performance in front of his home crowd of Texas at UFC Austin was impressive to say the least. Now the crime-fighting martial artist has had visions about his future although we should warn you that these were drug-fuelled
.
Holland made his way into the UFC through the Dana White Contender Series and gained notoriety for his casual trash-talking while fighting. He was called up to fight a then middleweight Thiago Santos, a fight where he showed incredible resolve and even better trash-talking, notably while getting beat up by Santos.
His true star rose when the pandemic hit and fights in empty arenas which meant the people at home could hear every word that would come out of Holland’s mouth. That is exactly what happened and Kevin Holland began the hottest streak of his life. Fighting 3 times in 4 months Holland gained a 3 fight victory streak in the UFC. However, all the Momentum came to a halt in 2021 when he faced off against the top brass at middleweight. Holland was wrestled to a halt in two straight fights by Derek Brunson and Marvin Vettori.

Kevin Holland details how Mushrooms gave him newfound confidence
Following this Kevin would start training with Johnny Hendricks to work on his wrestling and even take up a hobby as a crime fighter on the side. Holand also made the decision to permanently drop down to Welterweight and he surely has started finding success. On the back of this newfound confidence, he has found through polishing his skills the vigilante martial artist had a drug-fueled vision that he believes will be a prophecy.
Talking to Damon Martin of MMA Fighting, Holland revealed how a mushroom-induced vision showed him a future where he was a UFC champion. He said, ” I popped some shrooms about a couple of weeks ago and I had these visions, and I’m like I’m gonna be a champ” explaining why he thinks it was a prophecy since it was the first time he tried the drug.
Holland then reiterated his belief that he would be the champion one day and promised to spar more than his opponents, bike the extra miles and swim the extra laps in order to fulfill that prophecy. Holland also pointed out that he will do anything but run in training with a smile on his face. We think that’s because he gets enough running done during his side gig as a vigilante, glimpses of which were seen on the eve of UFC Austin when Holland pursued and apprehended a perfume thief
