Kevin Holland on Tim Means being Captain America
Kevin Holland grew his reputation as one of the most exciting UFC prospects in recent times. He was riding high on the win streaks, but a series of losses against Derek Brunson and Marvin Vettori threw him off his game, and he had to make some significant changes to reclaim his spot in the rankings.
He moved down to the welterweight division, and faced Alex Oliveira at UFC 272. Alex dominated Kevin at the beginning of the fight, but he made some adjustments and stopped him in the second round to mark his comeback. Kevin is known for his trash talk during the fight, and after getting back on the win column fans were expecting a lot of it from ‘The Trailblazer.’
Holland returned to the octagon to took on Tim Means in a welterweight scrap, and much to everyones surprise, he locked in a D’arce choke in the second round to force his opponent to tap. Kevin was not talking that much during the fight, but some harmless banter was exchanged between these two, and Kevin revealed what went down in the octagon.

He talked about it during the post-fight conference, and he said, “Just good, respectful talk back-and-forth. I had threw a sidekick to the leg but I told him I was going to try and keep it off the knee and he said, ‘I agree. Let’s keep ’em off the knee.’”
He added, “I hit him with a good shot and I was like, ‘man, you took that well,’ and he was like, ‘all day, baby! All day.’ The only thing I could think of was Captain America when he was getting beat up and he was like, ‘I can do this all night.’”
“So, I was like man, Tim is so game this is wonderful. I was just in there having a great time with Tim. OG, veteran, somebody like him, you just can’t put nothing past him. I felt myself getting a little off-balanced a couple of times doing the thing I was supposed to do and I had to remember like, ‘correct yourself because Tim will take you out if you don’t,’” Kevin concluded.
