How short? Kevin Holland‘s massive retirement lasted only for a whopping two whole weeks. The UFC has announced that the entertaining Holland will return to the octagon from “retirement” to face the veteran Stephen Thompson in a main event welterweight bout. This fight is stylistically a treat for the fans as we see both the fighters engage in a striking battle.

Not long ago, Holland announced on his social media that he would no longer fight after his bout against Khamzat Chimaev. According to his retirement statement, the fighter has earned the money he needed to in his short career and decided to not fight anymore professionally.

Just yesterday on the Real Eyes Recognize podcast, the Trailblazer doubled down on his retirement and said, “So I’m retired. I’m officially retired. I’m retired from fighting. I had a good fight, good payday, I had a good run.” Cut to today, he will be fighting one of the best welterweights of all time in Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson.
