‘He’s NOT STRONG’ – Khabib Nurmagomedov breaks down Charles Oliveira’s fight skills and vows Islam Makhachev will get through him

Khabib Nurmagomedov has been promoting his teammate, Islam Makhachev non-stop ahead of his first title fight against Charles Oliveira at UFC 280. The former lightweight champion is more than confident in Islam’s abilities to take on the lightweight star.
UFC fans will witness one of the best matchups in the UFC currently in Charles Oliveira vs Islam Makhachev at UFC 280 for the lightweight vacant belt. There’s a lot at stake in this upcoming fight as Islam is expected to carry on his friend, Khabib Nurmagomedov‘s legacy as a Dagestani lightweight champion. Though Khabib personally will never have faced Charles, he believes Makhachev can get the job done.
Charles is considered by many to be the best fighter in the lightweight division currently and is expected to cause an upset in Abu Dhabi against Makhachev. However, Khabib is not buying into all the hype. The Dagestani legend is confident in his teammate’s abilities and the game plan by his team to defeat the Brazilian. Khabib believes Charles is one of the best fighters in the division but does not have what it takes to beat an “Elite fighter” like Makhachev.
Khabib Nurmagomedov admits Islam Makhachev needs to be careful against Oliveira
Islam and his team have thoroughly studied Oliveira ahead of the huge title fight according to Nurmagomedov. In a recent interview posted on his YouTube channel, the former champ says, “We studied him closely and we continue to study him. He’s got a very good guillotine and you have to watch out for that.”
Khabib then went on to list the strengths and weaknesses of Islam’s opponents and said, “As for his standup – really good knees and kicks. Teeps to the body and head. I wouldn’t say he’s strong but he’s gained a lot of experience and confidence in the last few years. We are definitely not looking past him but we are confident we will get through him. We just need to be careful.”

Charles is on an 11-fight win streak while his opponent, Islam is on a 10-fight win streak. Very rarely do we get to see a title fight between two opponents who have not lost for a very long time. Both Islam and Charles believe they can finish the other and things are definitely heated between the two parties.
