Khabib Nurmagomedov praises Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski
UFC Hall-of-Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov does not see the champions losing their belts at UFC 276. Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski have former lightweight champion predicting that the two will successfully defend their belts against two amazing contenders.
UFC 276 is one of the best cards of the year so far and it is stacked from top to bottom. The pay-per-view event is headlined by two amazing title fights in the middleweight and featherweight divisions. Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski who come from the same gym headline International Fight Week at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Khabib Nurmagomedov, the former lightweight champion sees the two stars from City Kickboxing defending their titles.
Adesanya defends his belt against Jared Cannonier while Volkanovski takes on Max Holloway in a trilogy title fight. Khabib believes, that despite Jared’s skills to be a title contender, Israel is in a league of his own. Following UFC Vegas 57, Khabib gave out his official predictions for the two fights and picked the champions to defend their belts.
Khabib Nurmagomedov believes Alexander Volkanovski has “more fire” than Max Holloway
“I must say it’s gonna be a very close fight in the middleweight division. Adesanya vs Cannonier. But I think like Adesanya is a little bit step ahead, one foot away from Cannonier if we’re talking about class,” said Khabib talking about the middleweight matchup. This is the first time Adesanya and Jared will face each other inside the octagon.
“About Holloway and Volkanovski, I must say I am very impressed with Volkanovski, with his last couple performances. I like Max Holloway, I like him. This is nothing personal but I think Volkanovski gonna defend his title,” said Khabib praising the featherweight champ for his work ethic and picking him to win the trilogy. “I see he more stay busy, fight all the time, experience. Maybe experience is like same. Like a little bit more fire. I think [Alexander] has a little bit more fire than Max Holloway.”
This is a huge event for the stars of City Kickboxing. Both the fighters have been undefeated in their weightclass in UFC and have certainly put themselves in the conversation for being the GOAT of their division. What do you think about Khabib’s predictions for UFC 276?
