Either Khabib Nurmagomedov’s social media is completely handled by someone else, or the UFC Hall of Famer has developed a strong meme game after retiring from the sport of MMA as a competitor. Khabib, who’s the 2022 inductee as the UFC Hall of Famer, is an undefeated mixed-martial artist hailing from Dagestan, Russia, with a record of 29-0 and 3 title defences as UFC lightweight champion.
Khabib is known to have defeated very well-known opponents such as the likes of Justin Gaethje, Dustin Poirier, Edson Barboza, Conor McGregor, Michael Johnson, Rafael Dos Anjos, Gleison Tibau and many more. Khabib however was always fantasised about one day fighting former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson, who in his prime was on a legendary 12-fight winning streak. However, the fight couldn’t happen due to various reasons over the course of its booking over 5 times.

Not so long ago, Ferguson came to MMA Fighting’s THE MMA HOUR to propose the idea of coaching a team at UFC’s exclusive reality TV segment, The Ultimate Fighter opposite Khabib’s team. Since both the fighters couldn’t share the cage for fighting in the past and now cannot, this is the closest we can have to a competition between the two. Since then, Ferguson has been frequently calling out Khabib on Twitter and this time on his callout, Khabib backfired viciously, or more accurately, his Twitter handle did.
Ferguson uploaded a photoshopped image of him and Khabib wearing The Ultimate Fighter gear and wrote in the caption “Run [baseball emoji] Fathead… @TeamKhabib @AliAbdelaziz00 29-1 [hot drink cup emoji] – CSO- #Pandemic Games [including multiple other emojis in between]” Khabib posted a photoshopped image of Ferguson wearing a straitjacket and shouting out CSO. CSO is a Tony Ferguson exclusive abbreviation used to say Champ Sh*t Only in short term.
