“Coach I’m very nervous,” Khabib Nurmagomedov was worried after foreseeing Umar Nurmagomedov could face trouble in return fight

UFC superstar, Khabib Nurmagomedov was nervous about Umar Nurmagomedov‘s recent comeback fight. Coach Javier Mendez revealed the reason for the former lightweight champion to be nervous. Here is what happened:
Javier Mendez revealed that Khabib Nurmagomedov was nervous about his cousin Umar Nurmagomedov’s return fight. Mendez said that before the fight, he sent a video of Umar working out to Khabib who told him he felt nervous. Mendez said:
We knew how good he is. Khabib was nervous [for] this fight. He told me, 'Coach, I'm very nervous.' Before the fight started, I sent them a video of Umar working out and Khabib says, 'We're all here, we're all waiting, but I'm nervous.Javier Mendez via Javier MEncdez Podcast
Mendez said that Umar’s opponent was a dangerous fighter. He said Khabib was nervous because he knew how good of a fighter his opponent was and it was foolish to be overconfident. He also gave props to Umar’s opponent for not giving up throughout the fight. Bekzat Almakhan is a 26-year-old MMA fighter from Kazakhstan. He has a professional MMA record of 11 wins and 2 losses. His fight against Umar Nurmagomedov was his debut fight in the UFC.
Umar Nurmagomedov recently faced Almakhan in a bantamweight showdown. The fight was a part of UFC Vegas 87 that took place at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the opening round, Almakhan delivered a punch that knocked Nurmagomedov down. However, Nurmagomedov went into grappling mode and dominated the fight on the mat. The final scores were in favor of Nurmagomedov who won the fight via unanimous decision.
Khabib Nurmagomedov never considered UFC 300
The UFC wanted to put up a big showdown for UFC 300. Khabib Nurmagomedov recently told MMA Junkie that his team was approached about a return to the UFC. His manager, Ali Abdelaziz was approached for potential fights but he had already told everybody never to call him about a fight.
There was a widespread rumor that the Dagestani champion could make a comeback at UFC 300. However, Khabib recently revealed that he had never considered making a comeback to the UFC octagon. Nurmagomedov had said that he left MMA to spend more time with his family. His father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov passed away in 2020. His mother asked him to stop fighting, and he told her he would just do one last fight and then never again.
Khabib Nurmagomedov retired from fighting in 2020 after defeating Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. He retired after successfully defending his lightweight title for a third time and finished with a perfect career record of 29 wins and 0 losses.
