Recently Bobby Green subtly alleged that his former opponents Islam Makhachev and Khabib Nurmagomedov had dabbled in banned substances during their careers. Green’s passionate claims have certainly caught the attention of the MMA world.
In response to these allegations, Khabib Nurmagomedov staunchly asserted his innocence. Taking to social media he calmly stated that he has successfully passed a drug test 49 times in the last 5 years, and Islam would soon mark his 50th test. “Someone should inform Bobby that what Islam did to him was pure technique, honed over the years,” he added.
Green seemed to imply that Nurmagomedov and Makhachev train in covert facilities where USADA struggles to conduct tests. “Khabib and Islam, they go to a mosque… USADA can’t come in here,” he said. He also brought up Makhachev’s past drug test failure, which Makhachev attributed to substances provided during their upbringing in Russia. They were reportedly presented as harmless vitamins.

When asked about Makhachev’s suspension, Green gave somewhat vague details. He suggested that indeed some form of sanction was imposed. However, the specific details remained shrouded in uncertainty. It Is interesting to note that Bobby Green himself encountered a suspension in the past. He tested positive which resulted in a six-month ban from competing. Islam Makhachev wants to compete for the UFC welterweight title
Islam Makhachev has already set his eyes on the UFC welterweight title. Speaking to ESPN, Makhachev voiced his aspirations of securing the welterweight title by beating the winner of Leon Edwards versus Colby Covington.

Makhachev firmly believes that while it won’t be a cakewalk, he can take on either of Edwards or Covington. “It’s going to be a hard, tough fight against a big guy. But I believe I can finish those guys,” he said. Expressing a preference, Makhachev expressed his hope that Colby Covington would emerge as the victor. He admitted that Leon Edwards would be a tougher fight for him than Colby. Makhachev stated that it would be an exciting fight with U.S. wrestling pitting against Dagestan wrestling.
