Khamzat Chimaev has excited fans with his upcoming fight against Paulo Costa in Abu Dhabi. Recently, he visited the UK to visit his friend Darren Till probably. However, the UK visit turned out more memorable for the undefeated fighter. Fans were thrilled to meet Chimaev and even blocked the road to interact with the UFC fighter.
Chimaev has had a massive fan following since breaking out in 2020. He fought thrice in a span of three months to establish his status as an exciting prospect in the UFC. After witnessing dominant wrestling and submission game, the fight fans considered him to be the second coming of Khabib Nurmagomedov. Hence, it is no surprise that the fans in the UK came to see Chimaev.
Khamzat Chimaev has not fought since his submission win over Kevin Holland at UFC 279. He had a weight miss in that bout that made the UFC forcefully move him to the middleweight division. Chimaev was rumored to face former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, but it did not materialize. He will now face Paulo Costa at UFC 294.
It will be over a year since his last performance. On the other hand, Costa has not fought in over a year. Hence, ring rust could play a part in the fight. Either fighter could make a case for the title if they can convincingly win the bout in Abu Dhabi. Chimaev has a six-fight winning streak in the UFC, whereas Costa just returned to the winning column last year after back-to-back losses.

Former flyweight and bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo has established himself as a bright mind regarding the analysis of MMA fights. He breaks down fights on his YouTube channel and once predicted Jon Jones’ path to victory over Ciryl Gane at UFC 285.
Recently, Cejudo spoke about the Costa vs. Chimaev bout. He spoke about the strength of both fighters and the importance of physicality in the fight. Cejudo admitted that Chimaev could takedown Costa but maintained that he could not keep Costa down.
He also said that he would lean towards Costa for the fight. Paulo Costa could be the most daunting fight of Chimaev’s career. The Brazilian has an insane physique; no other fighter could hold Costa down. Hence, Chimaev must exceed expectations and keep Costa down to win the contest.
