Khamzat Chimaev has been one of the most prominent prospects of UFC. With only 11 fights in his MMA career, he is among the top MMA fighters in the world. Khamzat fights in the welterweight division of the UFC and is currently ranked #3 in the division. Khamzat has recently called out Nate Diaz for a fight in August. Nate has been demanding a fight for quite some time and it seems Khamzat wants to fight Nate in his final UFC fight.

Nate is currently in a dispute with the UFC. According to his contract, Nate only has one fight left in the promotion and Nate has cleared his intentions of not staying in the UFC after his last fight is done. Nate has not yet revealed whether he will retire from the sport or will join a different promotion, but he is keen on getting his last fight. Nate called out Dustin Poirier, and both fighters engaged in a tweet battle online, but the fight did not materialize.

Nate was also involved in a back and forth on twitter with Khamzat Chimaev and even claimed that Khamzat has refused to fight Nate and gave excuses to avoid the fight. Khamzat has now called out Nate and has asked him to fight him in August. Khamzat stated in the past that he wants the “Money fight” and a fight against Nate will be ideal for him in terms of revenue because of Nate’s popularity in the sport.

UFC president believes a fight between Khamzat and Nate can be great. Khamzat has been one of the most dominating fighters in the UFC right now and was basically untouchable till his last fight against Gilbert Burns. with only 10 fights experience, Khamzat defeated Gilbert Burns, who is among the top Welterweight in the world right now.

Dana white in his recent interview, talked about a fight between Khamzat and Nate and he believes it would be a great matchup. Khamzat has been looking for an opponent and as the fight for the title against Kamaru Usman is not possible yet, Khamzat can focus on earning some money in the octagon.

Talking with TMZ Sports, Dana dismissed the rumors of Nate and Khamzat fighting at UFC 276 but still accepted that it is a great fight to make. Dana said: “That’s a fun fight. You got Khamzat, ranked No.3 in the world. Him and Diaz would be fun. Leon Edwards is next for Kamaru Usman. Colby Covington and Khamzat would be fun. We’ll see how this thing plays out.”
