He can fight on his feet and can submit fighters in the blink of an eye. Chimaev has dominated every fight he has fought since his UFC debut.

After winning at UFC 273 by beating Gilbert Burns via unanimous decision, Chimaev got his purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. In a recent documentary by Blockasset, Chimaev’s BJJ coach and famous practitioner Alan Nascimento talked about how the ‘Borz’ is going to expose every other “fake” BJJ black belt holder in the UFC. Chimaev’s coach hilariously mentioned that currently, fighters are getting black belts like burgers.

Alan stated: “I’m making Khamzat expose all the fake black belts in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu that are in the MMA scenario. Why? Because nowadays people just get belts, like they go to McDonald’s. They don’t do the job. You know, he just got his purple belt, how many black belts in his career has he finished?
So, that shows. That’s about it, I’m using him to expose many guys. If you are legit, doesn’t fit for you but if you are not you better run.”

Khamzat Chimaev made his UFC debut in 2020 and has already fought three Brazilian jiu-jitsu fighters till now. The undefeated fighter fought Gerald Meerschaert at UFC UFC Vegas 11 and knocked him out in the first round. Later, Chimaev beat Gilbert Burns who is a BJJ black belt holder at UFC 273. It was only the fight of Chimaev which went to the judges and was close. However, the ‘Borz‘ won the fight via a split decision.

Recently at UFC 279, Chimaev had to fight Kevin Holland instead of Nate Diaz. Holland himself is a second-degree BJJ black belt holder but was destroyed by Chimaev in the very first minute of the fight. Chimaev took him down, kept him there and submitted him flawlessly.
