With this win, Chimaev improved his undefeated record to 13-0. The intense performance marked the end of the long-drawn inactivity from the Chechen fighter. He also took the time to thank one of his contemporaries in football who was present in the arena to support him. He said:

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the famous football icon, was present to support Khamzat Cimaev at UFC 294. This was not the first time they had crossed paths. In June 2023, they met during a training session, where Chimaev received a signed jersey from Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
