UFC superstar Khamzat Chimaev is known as one of the most dangerous up-and-coming fighters in combat sports. Chimaev is also an outspoken individual unafraid of stating his opinion. The UFC welterweight recently spoke of Boxer Devin Haney‘s comments, which included apparently racist virtues in the boxer’s mindset.

In this controversial clip, Haney said, “I can tell you this: I will never lose to a white guy in my life. I don’t care what people say. Look, no white guy can beat me, I don’t care. If I fight a white guy about 10 times, I’m going to beat him 10 times.” To this statement, Khamzat stated that it’s unacceptable to say this kind of thing. He said, “There are no differences, we are all the same.” Further, Chimaev also revealed that he unfollowed Haney on Instagram after his comments.

Chimaev is currently set for his upcoming fight at UFC 294. He will face No. 6 ranked middleweight contender Paulo Costa on October 21, 2023, in Abu Dhabi. Both fighters share an edgy rivalry and are willing to do what it takes to get the other man down. The winner of this fight could potentially compete for the middleweight title. The fight is set to take place as a co-main event under the Islam Makhachev vs. Charles Oliveira fight.

However, Chimaev has given his opinion on Haney’s comments. Haney is an established name in the sport of boxing. Despite being young, Haney has made a name for himself in the sport. However, such comments could attract bad publicity to the boxer’s image.

Khamzat Chimaev is serious ahead of Paulo Costa’s fight at UFC 294

UFC superstar Khamzat Chimaev seems ready for his upcoming bout against Brazilian Paulo Costa. However, ‘Borz’ has stated that he’s not planning to put on a ‘fun fight’ as he is preparing for a real showdown.

This fight at UFC 294 can be a crucial decider in the middleweight division. Costa, who was a previous title challenger, went on a downward spiral after his loss against Israel Adesanya. However, the fighter proved his game by defeating Luke Rockhold in his last match. Chimaev, on the other hand, has delivered when it was necessary to make a big name for himself. The winner from UFC 294 could join the list of title contention at the middleweight with Dricus Du Plessis.

Despite the light-hearted buildup between the two, Chimaev is ready to keep all jokes outside the octagon when he starts the fight. Many MMA fans will be looking forward to this bout as both challengers strive to prove their name.
