UFC star Khamzat Chimaev swiftly countered Bo Nickal‘s recent challenge in the MMA world. Chimaev suggested Nickal should rethink his bold callout. In a recent interview on The MMA Hour, Chimaev didn’t mince words when talking about the college wrestling standout.
‘Borz’ commended Nickal’s wrestling prowess, noting that Nickal was a great fighter. However, he added with conviction, “Maybe we’ll fight for a title one day.” However, Khamzat Chimaev believed it was too early for Bo Nickal to fight him. “…if they put him against me now, I’m gonna break him…,” Chimaev said.
Chimaev boasts an unblemished MMA record, with notable triumphs over Kevin Holland and Gilbert Burns. Notably, he secured a knockout victory against Gerald Meerschaert during his lone middleweight appearance in the UFC. Conversely, Bo Nickal, fresh from victories against Jamie Pickett and Val Woodburn, has a bright future ahead. He could possibly have a fight against a top contender for his next bout.
Chimaev and Nickal both stand out as UFC‘s most promising young talents. And it’s almost inevitable that they’ll cross paths within the octagon. The two fighters exude confidence as they ascend through the ranks. Chimaev will face Paulo Costa at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi.
Khamzat Chimaev’s long-awaited return to the octagon against Paulo Costa

Fans eagerly anticipate Chimaev’s return at UFC 294. Khamzat Chimaev is finally set to face off against rival Paulo Costa. The middleweight showdown is scheduled for October in Abu Dhabi. This fight comes after an extended hiatus due to concerns about weight cuts and a shortage of willing opponents. It’s been over a year since we last witnessed “Borz” in action.
Paulo Costa and Khamzat Chimaev have gone back and forth with each other for a while now on social media. Thus, it is no surprise the UFC made this long-awaited fight happen. Paulo Costa currently ranks #6 in the UFC middleweight rankings. Costa is older than Chimaev and has more fights under his belt. With a professional record of 14 wins and two losses, Costa is set to settle the forever-lasting online dispute to rest.
Meanwhile, Chimaev walks into this fight with a professional record of 12 wins and 0 losses, meaning a perfect string of consecutive victories since his debut in the UFC. Will Paulo Costa give Chimaev his first taste of defeat this year at UFc 294? Only time will tell.
